qualitative analysis of iran scientific products of physical education and sport sciences in international journals

the aim of this study was to qualitatively analyze iran scientific products of physical education and sport sciences in isi journals. it investigated iran scientific products in physical education and sport sciences based on a range of topics including researchers' collaboration with domestic universities and at the international level, the publication pattern of authors, subjects and the specification of the subgroups and branches. the method of bibliography was used in this study and research data were collected from web of science database which is one of the branches of isi. the findings showed that only 128 documents have been entered in the above mentioned database from iran within 30 years (1980-2009). most researches belonged to sport physiology and the branch of energy systems. moreover, the factor of collaboration had an important effect on the average number of documents.
